From Student to Director: Larsen’s Debut Faculty Recital at Iowa Lakes

Estherville, Iowa — Iowa Lakes Community College will host a Faculty Recital featuring Lincoln Larsen, trumpet, with Laura Garred, collaborative pianist, on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Janice K. Lund Performing Arts Center.

The performance marks Larsen’s debut recital as the college’s new Director of Music and Performing Arts. A 2019 graduate of Iowa Lakes, Larsen returns to the Estherville campus after building an accomplished career as a soloist, orchestral and chamber musician, and jazz performer. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Morningside University (2022) and a Master of Music from New Mexico State University (2024).

The program will highlight the range and versatility of the trumpet, featuring works by Torelli, Neruda, Peskin, DeJarnett, and Clarke. Larsen will perform on four different trumpets.

The recital is free and open to the public. A free-will donation will be accepted, with all proceeds benefiting music scholarships at Iowa Lakes Community College. A reception will follow the performance.
