PRESS RELEASE: RAISE A GLASS FOR THE ARTS AT IOWA LAKES DURING UNCORKED FUNDRAISER
ESTHERVILLE, Iowa — The Iowa Lakes Community College Music Department invites the community to an elegant evening of music, fine food, and philanthropy during UNCORKED, a new semi-formal fundraising gala on Saturday, Oct. 17, beginning at 5 p.m. at the Janice K. Lund Performing Arts Center on the Estherville Campus.
The inaugural event will feature wine and beer tastings, hors d’oeuvres, live musical entertainment, and a silent and live auction, creating an evening that celebrates the arts while supporting future artistic opportunities at Iowa Lakes. Community members, alumni, business leaders, and music enthusiasts are invited to attend.
All proceeds from UNCORKED will benefit the Estherville Performing Arts Series, helping fund artist fees that bring nationally and regionally recognized performers to campus while expanding cultural and educational experiences for students and the surrounding communities.
“The performing arts enrich our campus and strengthen the communities we serve,” said Troy Larson, vice president of student services at Iowa Lakes Community College. “Events like UNCORKED create opportunities for people to invest directly in experiences that inspire creativity, foster lifelong appreciation for the arts, and enhance the educational environment for our students.”
The evening will showcase the talent of Glenn Henriksen and The Galaxy Band while providing guests with an opportunity to enjoy exceptional food, beverages, and fellowship in support of a meaningful cause.
“UNCORKED is about more than fundraising—it’s about creating a community that values and celebrates the arts,” said Lincoln Larsen, director of music at Iowa Lakes Community College. “Every ticket purchased helps us continue bringing outstanding performers to our campus while giving our students opportunities to learn from and perform alongside exceptional artists. We hope guests leave knowing they’ve made a lasting impact.”
