PRESS RELEASE: FIFTH ANNUAL IOWA LAKES ALL-STATE CHOIR CAMP RETURNS AUGUST 15-16

PRESS RELEASE (Estherville, Iowa) Iowa Lakes Community College will host its Fifth Annual All-State Choir Camp on Saturday, August 15, and Sunday, August 16, welcoming high school choir students from across Iowa as they prepare for auditions for the 2026 Iowa All-State Music Festival.

Recognized as the only free All-State Choir Camp in Iowa, the two-day camp provides students with the opportunity to study the All-State audition repertoire under the guidance of experienced music educators in a supportive, collaborative environment. Camp participants refine their vocal technique, strengthen musicianship, and gain valuable audition experience before the official All-State audition season begins.

“Iowa Lakes is proud to continue offering this camp at no cost to students,” said Brett Fuelberth, Iowa Lakes Music Professor. “Many All-State camps across the state charge significant registration fees. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and volunteers, we’re able to remove that financial barrier and make this opportunity available to any student who wants to participate.”

Throughout the weekend, students will rehearse the required All-State repertoire while receiving instruction from experienced directors, music educators, and accompanists. The camp has grown steadily over the past five years, attracting students from communities across Iowa who are seeking a strong foundation for successful All-State auditions.

The camp will conclude with a free public concert at 6 p.m. on Sunday, August 16, in the Janice K. Lund Performing Arts Center on the Iowa Lakes Estherville campus. The concert is open to the public and will feature performances of selections from this year’s All-State audition music.

The camp is made possible through the generous support of Hy-Vee, Redwood Farms, Farmers Union Industries, Kwik Star, and the many local music teachers, directors, accompanists, and volunteers who donate their time and talents to make the event possible.

Students interested in participating can register through the Iowa Lakes Music Department. For more information, please contact Brett Fuelberth at 712-362-7963 or bfuelberth@iowalakes.edu; or the Iowa Lakes Music Department at 712-362-8345.
