Iowa Lakes Community College prides itself on supporting not only our students, but our faculty. By doing so, we continually improve the level of academic standards that we offer. One part of that is our Teaching and Learning Center, which was developed in order to promote excellence in instruction by supporting faculty development through group trainings, workshops, and one-on-one sessions.
key areas of focus
- Pedagogical workshops on active learning, inclusive teaching, and assessment design.
- Training in educational technology (Canvas, Simple Syllabus, OneDrive, Teams, etc.)
- Support for online and hybrid course development aligned with best practices and accreditation standards.
- Hosting learning communities
- Central resource for teaching tools and strategies, where instructors can experiment with new technologies or course design methods
- Multimedia/recording studios for online course content
- Equipment checkout or software demonstrations
