IOWA LAKES HANDBELL CHOIR TO PRESENTS SPRING CONCERT

(Spirit Lake, Iowa) The Iowa Lakes Community College Handbell Choir will celebrate the arrival of spring with a special concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 3, at First Presbyterian Church, 3501 Hill Avenue, Spirit Lake, Iowa.

Directed by Lincoln Larsen, director of music & performing arts, the Handbell Choir performs on a six-octave range, from G2 to G8, using Schulmerich handbells. The bronze bells range in weight from four ounces to 26 pounds. Performances also feature a seven-octave set of hand chimes, the largest of which stands 6 feet tall.

The concert will include performances by the First Presbyterian Adult and Youth Handbell Choirs, creating a collaborative musical experience for the community.

Freewill donations will be accepted to support the purchase and maintenance of handbells and hand chimes, helping ensure the continued excellence of the program.
