Press Release: Fourth Annual All-State Choir Camp at Iowa Lakes Showcases Student Talent
(Estherville, Iowa) Iowa Lakes Community College hosted its fourth annual All-State Choir Camp on Saturday, August 16, and Sunday, August 17, bringing together more than 150 students from 35 schools across Iowa. The farthest school traveled five hours to attend, underscoring the camp’s growing reputation as a premier preparation opportunity for the 2025 All-State Music Festival.
As the only free All-State Choir Camp in Iowa, the event is made possible through the generosity of community supporters including Hy-Vee, Kwik Star, and Krafty’s Meat Market, as well as the many local music teachers and accompanists who volunteered their time.
“Iowa Lakes Community College wants this camp to be accessible for all students,” said Brett Fuelberth, Iowa Lakes Music Professor. “While many All-State Choir Camps charge between $100 and $200, we are able to offer this camp for free thanks to the dedication and generosity of our donors and volunteers.”Over the course of the two-day camp, students worked intensively with experienced directors to learn and refine the All-State audition repertoire. The experience not only gives participants a strong start on their All-State preparation, but also allows families to save on camp expenses while keeping schedules flexible for other summer commitments.
The weekend concluded with a free public concert on August 17 at the Janice K. Lund Performing Arts Center, where campers showcased the skills they developed in performing selections from the All-State repertoire.
