Accessibility | ADA
Iowa Lakes Community College is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including individuals with disabilities and those who use assistive technologies.
We strive to provide equal access to our programs, services, and online content in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Sections 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and other applicable accessibility regulations.
Accessibility Standards and Ongoing Efforts
We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 as our guiding standard for determining accessibility. These internationally recognized standards provide a broad range of recommendations and best practices for making web content more accessible and usable for all individuals.
As new pages, content, and functionality are added to our website, designs, code, and content entry practices are reviewed against these standards.
Website accessibility is an ongoing process. We continually test content and features for WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance and remediate any issues to ensure we meet or exceed the standards. Our team members test our website using industry-standard tools, including the WordPress Accessibility Checker plugin, color contrast analyzers, keyboard-only navigation techniques, and Flesch-Kincaid readability tests.
Continuous Improvement
We are committed to continually improving the accessibility of our website. While we strive to ensure all content meets accessibility standards, some legacy materials or third-party content may not yet fully comply. We are actively working to identify and address these areas.
Please note that Iowa Lakes Community College cannot guarantee the accessibility of third-party websites or external platforms linked from our website.
