“The 1940’s Radio Hour” will be presented March 22, 23 and 24 at 7:30 p.m. each evening in the Estherville campus gym.
The play, which chronicles the final broadcast of a radio show on Dec. 21, 1942 as World War II rages overseas, includes drama, humor and many of the musical hits of the era. It also includes more than 40 actors and actresses, including college students, adults, and high school students from northwest Iowa and Minnesota.
Attending one of the three shows is a great way to enjoy a quality production while supporting local college and community actors. But act soon; tickets to the performances are expected to go fast.
Tickets for reserved seats are now on sale by calling (712) 362-8345 or emailing Tim Soper at email@example.com new email. Messages may be left any time, but must include a name and phone number.
Tickets cost $13 for adults and $6 for pre-school through college students. Tickets for Iowa Lakes students are covered courtesy of the Iowa Lakes Student Senate.
Audience members can add to the theatrical experience by adding a dinner theater to the Saturday evening performance. Dinner will be Saturday, March 24 at 5:30 p.m. in The Max.
Menu includes a lettuce salad and relish tray, choice of prime rib, tilapia, chicken breast (must indicate choice at time of ticket order) baked potato, green bean almandine, roll, drink and dessert.
Cost for dinner theater and musical performance, pre-school through grade 12 is $23 ($6 for musical ticket + $17 dinner); adults cost $30.00 ($13 for musical ticket + $17 dinner); and Iowa Lakes students cost $17 for the dinner.
The last several productions have sold out all three nights so patrons are encouraged to call for tickets soon.
Please plan to arrive at the musical early to view the temporary exhibit that includes information about the home front during World War II, uniforms from several different wars and branches of the military, and an honor roll recognizing local veterans!
