What is the Food Assistance Employment and Training Program?

Food Assistance Employment and Training (FAE&T) Program combines services from the Department of Human Services and the Department of Agriculture. The FAE&T program provides food security to qualifying students, which covers most programs that students attend at Iowa Lakes. Career pathways covered by the program include business, healthcare, industrial technology, manufacturing, and transportation. Students that qualify for the program can receive tuition, books, and some job/college/career-related expenses as well as food assistance.

How do I qualify for the FAE&T program?

Students that meet income guidelines and are attempting to receive:
•    High school completion
•    English as a second language
•    Short-term job training
•    2-Year Degrees

How do I apply for the benefits of the FAE&T program?

Any Iowa Lakes student interested in applying for the FAE&T program should contact an Educational Counselor or Career Navigator. An Educational Counselor and Career Navigator are located on all five campuses of Iowa Lakes Community College. Applications are accepted throughout the year.
