Greatness STEMS from Educators
Integral to Iowa's STEM equation are educators. Iowa has many outstanding STEM teachers pre-K through college, as well as outside of formal learning environments, who work to convey the excitement of STEM through interdisciplinary, hands-on inquiry and problem solving.
To help support Iowa educators, the STEM Council provides the following opportunities:
PreK-12 Student Interest and Achievement in STEM
A goal of STEM Council programs is to increase Iowa student interest and achievement in STEM areas (science, technology, engineering and math), ultimately leading to an increased number of Iowa students employed within Iowa after graduation. A high priority for the STEM Council is to equalize STEM access and opportunity across geographic, demographic, gender and racial/ethnic groups.
