Veterinary Technician national Examination (VTNE) Scores
The VTNE is used to evaluate entry-level veterinary technician/nurse competency to practice and to be credentialed. Most states and provinces require a passing score on the VTNE as one criterion for credentialing. For further information, please refer to the AAVSB website.
The VTNE pass rates for the previous three years has been as follows:
- Number of First time test candidates from January 1, 2022 - December 31, 2024: 28
- Three year pass percentage from January 1, 2022 - December 31, 2024: 46.43%
Iowa Lakes Community College is fully accredited, however due to the current rolling average pass percentage rate of 46.43%, the program has been placed on probationary accreditation. The graduates of this program are graduates of an accredited program. The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Committee on Veterinary Technical Education and Activities (CVTEA) has a three-year rolling average Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE) pass percentage for first time test takers benchmark set for 50% or higher.
