At Iowa Lakes Community College, the Aviation program is highly sought after by students eager to launch their careers in the aviation industry. With the rising demand for skilled pilots, our program stands out for its exceptional training and hands-on experience. To manage the high level of interest and ensure that students are prepared for the program's rigorous demands, certain prerequisites are required. By completing these prerequisites, students can secure a spot in our program. Please note that acceptance is based on a first-come, first-served basis for processed prerequisites, so early completion is encouraged to ensure a place in the program.

Complete the Aviation Letter of Intent form. This form will be sent via email once the Application for Admission has been completed.
When completing the Letter of Intent form:
- Submit the following required supporting documents based on your citizenship status:

US Citizens: To comply with federal regulations, students must provide the following documents as proof of U.S. citizenship or legal residency:
• Birth Certificate
• Passport (if applicable)
• State Issued Driver’s License -
International Students: Students must complete and submit the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) approval form to be eligible for flight training, as required under federal aviation security regulations.

All Students: FAA Medical Exam Students must obtain and submit a valid First or Second Class FAA Medical Certificate from an FAA-authorized aviation medical examiner.
