Outstanding Alumnus Award presented to Dan Jorgensen of Ringsted

The 2018 Jim Hall Outstanding Alumni Award was presented to Dan Jorgensen of Ringsted during the Iowa Lakes Community College Spring Commencement.  Dan, a graduate of the Diesel Mechanics program at Iowa Lakes returned to his community to become a business professional. Dan’s leadership and dedication have made tremendous impacts.

Dan has served as Ringsted’s Mayor for over 25 years.  He is also the volunteer Fire Chief and one of the community’s EMTs, which in his community is all-volunteer service.

Dan has provided internship sponsorship for students from Iowa Lakes automotive and diesel programs mentoring and encouraging them as they pursue their careers.  In the past, Dan has shared his time and talents on church councils and committees, on the local school booster committee, and always there to help with community fund raising events.  His community knows if there is a need they can count on Dan.  Iowa Lakes Alumni & Friends Association congratulates Dan Jorgenson as the 2018 recipient of the Jim Hall Outstanding Alumni.
