Northwest Iowa Advanced Manufacturing STEM Festival Offered in 21 Counties
(Estherville, Iowa) The Northwest Iowa Advanced Manufacturing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) festival, offers the third annual and first virtual festival of its kind in the Northwest STEM region. Students in grades 5-8 may attend free of charge and entirely online in October 2020.
The festival’s goals are to promote, inspire, and engage youth in STEM activities and introduce students and parents to advanced manufacturing STEM careers in Northwest Iowa.
Parents and teachers can opens in a new windowregister their students online from September 21 – September 25, 2020, at http://bit.ly/NWADManFest. Upon registration, students will receive a link to the virtual festival, and a STEM Challenge Kit will be mailed to them.
Students will learn more about our company partners and then take part in hands-on STEM challenges. Festival partners include the following: AGCO (Agriculture Company), Jackson, Minnesota; Diamond Vogel (Paint and Coatings), Orange City; GOMACO and GOMACO Trolley Company, Ida Grove; GKN Wheels, Estherville; Interstates, Sioux Center, Pella Corporation, Carroll and Sioux Center; Polaris, Spirit Lake; Rosenboom, Spirit Lake and Sheldon; Sekisui Aerospace, Orange City; RJ Thomas, Pilot Rock; and Cherokee Wells Blue Bunny, Le Mars. This festival is a great way to expose students to STEM careers in Northwest Iowa.
The Northwest Iowa Advanced Manufacturing STEM Festival is a partnership led by the Northwest Region of the Iowa Governor’s STEM Advisory Council and Iowa Lakes Community College Intermediary Department.
