National Library Week STEM Challenges Festival April 2021
The NW STEM Region invites students in grades K-4 to participate in the National Library Week STEM Challenges Festival beginning on April 1, 2021, and on ending April 30, 2021. Parents and teachers can register their students here: http://bit.ly/LibraryFest. Registration closes on March 15, 2021.
The goals of festivals are to promote, inspire, and engage youth in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) activities and to introduce students and parents to STEM careers in Northwest Iowa. With this festival, families are also encouraged to discover what their local library has to offer.
Librarians across the region have created videos of the reading of some STEM-inspired children’s books. Each book has been paired with a STEM Challenge. Upon registration, students will receive a STEM Challenge Kit with materials to complete each challenge. We have 700 kits available, so sign up – there is plenty to go around!
