Judith L. Johnson Music Scholarship Awarded

(Estherville, Iowa) Established by the Johnson family in 2011 at Iowa Lakes Community College, the Judith L. Johnson Memorial Music Scholarship honors Judy’s life devoted to teaching and music. Judith taught preschool for 19 years before going to work for Iowa Lakes Community College. She was a talented singer and gave piano lessons for almost 20 years.

Requirements for the scholarship are an Emmetsburg High School graduate, full-time enrollment, music participation, and minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA. Preference may be given to a graduating senior and/or Judy’s former piano students. The award is $1,000 and must be used for tuition, books or fees.

The 2019-2020 recipient is Maggie Jackson of Emmetsburg.
