About Janice K. Lund

The Board of Trustees of Iowa Lakes Community College dedicates this building in honor of Janice K. Lund, for her exemplary service starting in 1993 as a Trustee and as Board President.

Janice was born in Albert Lea, Minnesota and grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In 1974 she and her husband Dick, along with sons Chris and Steve, moved to Estherville. She was employed by the USDA Farm Service Agency for 30 years until retiring in 2008. Janice has been an active member of the Estherville community through service clubs and organizations, including Redeemer Lutheran Church, Estherville Rotary, PEO Chapter AY, VFW Auxiliary, and the Iowa Lakes Community College Foundation Board.

Janice has a strong interest in the arts and since becoming a Trustee, one of her primary goals has been for Iowa Lakes to have an on-campus facility dedicated to the performing arts. Passage of the 2016 bond referendum was a major factor in the Janice K. Lund Performing Arts Facility becoming a reality.

As a Trustee, Janice is a steadfast advocate for Iowa Lakes Community College and fulfilling the mission of educating students in preparation for careers and service to society. In 2010, she was the recipient of the prestigious John P. Kibbie Trustee Leadership Award by the Iowa Association of Community College Trustees Board. This recognition was due to her dedication and active participation in the community college system, not only at the local level but on a state and national level as well.

At the time of this dedication, Janice is beginning her 27th year as a Trustee and 10th year as Board President.
