Iowa Lakes Trustees Discuss COVID-19

(Estherville, Iowa) The Iowa Lakes Board of Trustees met Tuesday afternoon at the SERT Facility located on the Estherville campus.

Delaine Hiney, Executive Director of Facilities Management, provided Trustees with an update concerning Iowa Lakes Community College and its response to COVID-19.

“The COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve at an increasingly fast pace, and the college has already taken steps to limit its impact on our campuses. Currently, there are no known cases of COVID-19 on campus,” said Hiney.

Iowa Lakes Community College is currently at a Level 2 of their Incident Command Response, multiple events and performances have been canceled or postponed, travel suspended, and events held by outside entities have been restricted.

Jolene Rogers, Executive Director of Community and Business Relations, addressed the Trustees about donor contributions. The Trustees accepted a donation of assorted motor parts and small tools from Wentzel’s True Value for the Powersports & Power Equipment program located on the Emmetsburg Campus.

Additionally, Rogers also received approval to accept donations for the Iowa Lakes College Farm Operations for the 2020 growing season and from several individuals and businesses, including Chad Anderson, Pioneer, Winfield Solutions, Stateline Cooperative, Pro Cooperative, Matt Shuver, Wyffels Seed, MaxYield Cooperative, and Ryan Jurgens, Becks Seed.

The next meeting of the Iowa Lakes Board of Trustees will be on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, beginning at 4:30 pm at the Emmetsburg Campus, 3200 College Drive, Emmetsburg, Iowa.
