Iowa Lakes Receives “Top 10 Gold” Military Friendly® Designation

Military Friendly badge(Estherville, Iowa) Iowa Lakes Community College receives “Top 10 Gold” Military Friendly® designation on the 2020-21 Military Friendly® Schools list out of more than 1,000 participating schools.  The “Top 10 Gold” designation is the highest honor possible through the prestigious Military Friendly® program created by VIQTORY, a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business founded in 2001.

To earn the award, Iowa Lakes Community College was rated by survey scores and an institutional assessment including student retention, graduation rates, job placement, loan repayment, persistence (degree advancement or transfer) and loan default rates for all students and, specifically for student veterans.

Iowa Lakes Community College strives to meet the unique needs of military veterans and is continually looking for ways to improve the experiences of our military and veteran students and faculty. Currently, Iowa Lakes boasts two Veteran Centers on the main campuses, a Peer/Staff mentorship program, and multiple Military and American Legion scholarship opportunities.
