Iowa Lakes Holds First All-State Choir Camp and Invites Community to Attend the Concert

(Estherville, Iowa) Iowa Lakes Community College will host the first-ever All-State Choir Camp, an opportunity for high school students to jump-start the All-State process from August 13 to 14. The camp will end with a free concert for the community featuring more than 100 students from over 20 area schools on August 14 at 6 pm in the Janice K. Lund Performing Arts Center on the Estherville campus.
“Luke Miller, Choir Director at Spirit Lake Schools, and myself were looking for a way to provide a ‘no-cost’ All-State Camp for students who may not be able to afford to attend a camp,” stated Brett Fuelberth, Vocal Music Professor at Iowa Lakes. “Area choir directors from Alta-Aurelia, Emmetsburg, Spirit Lake, Spencer, and Storm Lake are donating their time to lead this camp making this camp possible.”
This short concert will feature seven songs from the All-State repertoire sung by the camp participants, including “America, the Beautiful,” “Tuttarana,” “Gloria (from the Opera the Masque of Angels),” and “Battle Hymn of the Republic.” Students learned the songs during the intensive two-day camp.
Everyone is welcome to attend this free concert.
