Iowa Lakes Handbell Choir to Perform Spring Concert
(Estherville, Iowa) On Sunday, May 5th, at 2:00 p.m. the public is invited to attend a handbell performance at the First Presbyterian Church, 3501 Hill Avenue in Spirit Lake.
The Iowa Lakes Community College Handbell Choir, under the direction of Carol Ayres Stueven, is an ensemble that performs on a seven-octave range, from G2 to G8, of Schulmerich handbells. The bells are made of bronze and range in weight from four ounces to 26 pounds. The choir also supplements handbells with a seven-octave set of handchimes.
Also performing at this concert are First Presbyterian Handbell Choir and the Lakes Community Handbell group under the direction of Carol Ayres Stueven. Members of the Lakes Community Handbell group include: Cindy Knabe of Jackson, MN; Sue Haburn of Spirit Lake; Megan Struthers of Milford; Bev Petrick of Spirit Lake, Jordan Christensen of Estherville; Nick Steinle of Ruthven; Jada Duis of Ocheyeda;, Brooklynn Erickson of Spirit Lake; Lincoln Larsen of Hinton; Travis Meyer of Estherville; Matthew Tifft of Ames; Sam Wolver of Centerville; and Trevor Zellmer of Pierce, NE, and Iowa Lakes students.
Free will donations are accepted toward the purchase and upkeep of the handbells and handchimes.
