Iowa Lakes Community College To Postpone Summer Jazz Band Camp to Summer 2021

(Estherville, Iowa) Iowa Lakes Community College and the Reggie Schive Jazz Camp have postponed the scheduled 2020 Jazz Camp to reconvene during the summer of 2021. The postponement of this year’s event is due to the recent circumstances surrounding the spread of the coronavirus.

“The Reggie Schive Jazz Camp is a highlight of the year for our campers, clinicians, and staff, and it is very disappointing to have to postpone this year’s camp,” explains Carol Ayres Stueven, Iowa Lakes Music Professor.

Ayres Stueven also shared, “Our camp is one of the longest-running Jazz and Big Band education camps in the country, and we want our camp to continue for many years to come, so keeping everyone healthy and safe is our top priority.”

The 2020 Jazz Camp was scheduled to celebrate its 40th-anniversary, and camp organizers are already beginning to plan the 40th-anniversary milestone next year.

“We can’t wait to celebrate our 40th Anniversary and are looking forward to working with our campers, clinicians, and staff once again. Be sure to watch for updates on our celebration as we get closer to the Camp in 2021,” explains Ayres.

The Iowa Lakes Music Department will share a series of videos and pictures showcasing the last 39 years of the Camp via the Iowa Lakes Music Department Facebook Page beginning Sunday, June 14th.
