(Estherville, Iowa) Hear ye, hear ye! Iowa Lakes Community College’s Music Department is delighted to announce the arrival of the 24th Annual Elizabethan Madrigal Feaste. This year, the merriment shall take place at the Janice K. Lund Performing Arts Center in Estherville on December 1 and 2, commencing at 6:30 pm. Ticket sales shall commence on November 6, 2023.
The Elizabethan Madrigal Feaste is a delightful homage to the Christmas Feaste, a cherished annual tradition hailing from early England. It promises a grand spectacle of celebration, where the 12 days of Christmas shall be joyfully celebrated and toasted.
Prepare to be thoroughly entertained with side-splitting comedic performances and the enchanting melodies of the season, brought to you by the talented Iowa Lakes Chamber Choir. As you savor a delectable four-course meal, you’ll be transported to a bygone era steeped in the rich traditions of English revelry. Look forward to the grand procession of the boar’s head, the jester’s playful antics, melodious carolers strolling about, heartwarming Wassail toasts, a flaming pudding, and a regal dessert fit for royalty. The performers shall be adorned in resplendent Renaissance attire. While guests are encouraged to don costumes, it is entirely optional.
