Tietz Entrepreneurial Center Offers Two Free Grow with Google Sessions
(Algona, Iowa) The Tietz Entrepreneurial Center and Iowa Lakes Community College will host two upcoming Grow with Google training sessions scheduled to take place in October and November 2023 on the Algona Campus. These insightful sessions will help entrepreneurs and businesses enhance their digital skills to thrive online.
Grow with Google Iowa Digital Coach, Lindsey Newland, will lead both workshops. Newland is a small business owner and a business and marketing specialist at Main Street Ottumwa, where she helps businesses implement new digital content and ecommerce strategies that drive new revenue streams.

Get Your Local Business on Google Search and Maps (Class #7202)

In this workshop, participants will gain invaluable insights into ensuring their businesses are discoverable on Google Search and Google Maps. With the increasing reliance on online search, it has become paramount for local businesses to provide accurate and up-to-date information to potential customers. The workshop will guide attendees through creating and managing a comprehensive Google Business Profile. Topics covered include establishing or claiming a Google Business Profile, effectively managing business information across Google platforms, and leveraging the Business Profile to engage with prospectivecustomers.

This session will help equip participants with the knowledge needed to enhance their online presence through Google. Attendees will learn how to utilize Google Search functions and strategies to improve a website’s visibility through Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques. The workshop will also introduce attendees to various Google tools and products, including Google Business Profile, Google Trends, Search Console, and Google Ads. The discussion will revolve around best practices for optimizing website visibility across all devices in Google’s organic search results. Additionally, participants will learn how to create a free Google Business Profile and explore avenues for advertising their business on Google.
