FORMER IOWA LAKES COACH JOEY PAVLOVICH STEPS UP TO LEAD CENTRAL CHRISTIAN COLLEGE BASEBALL

Coach Joseph Pavlovich

Former Iowa Lakes Community College Baseball Coach Joey Pavlovich is embarking on a new journey as he takes on the role of Head Baseball Coach at Central Christian College.

During his five-year tenure at Iowa Lakes, Coach Pavlovich played an integral role in the growth and success of the Laker baseball program. Under his guidance, the Laker baseball team saw remarkable growth and success, with 13 players moving to Division 1 schools.

Reflecting on his time at Iowa Lakes, Coach Pavlovich expressed gratitude for the experience and growth it provided, “I’m so thankful for the opportunity to become the head baseball coach at Central Christian College. It was a unique opportunity to learn not only how well I know the league but also the mission of the school and the faith aspect involved. I wouldn’t be in this position without the experience and growth I had during my time at Iowa Lakes. From my time as a graduate assistant doing anything and everything at the school to connections made and figuring out how to be a head coach, I pretty much saw everything possible during my years in Estherville. I still have many close friends and relationships from my time there.”

A commitment to player development and a genuine passion for the game characterizes Coach Pavlovich’s coaching career. He has consistently demonstrated leadership and expertise from his previous roles as Pitching Coach at Bryan College to Lead Assistant Coach at the University of Science and Arts Oklahoma.

As an adjunct mathematics instructor, Coach Pavlovich will contribute to Central Christian College’s academic community. With a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from East Central University, a master’s degree in education from Iowa State University, and ongoing studies toward a second degree in mathematics, he brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role.

“I’m excited for Joey and his new position. With his work ethic, knowledge of the game, and ability to communicate, I have always viewed him as a head coach. I’m glad he can do this at the four-year level. I can’t wait to see what Central Christian College baseball looks like in a few years,” said Troy Larson, Iowa Lakes’ Executive Dean of Students and Athletics.

As Coach Pavlovich begins this new chapter, Iowa Lakes Community College wishes him continued success and thanks him for his contributions to the Laker baseball program.
