O'Round the Loch Run
Take part in the 46th Annual Smith Wellness Center O'Round the Loch Run on March 14, 2026!
Whether you are wanting to run for fun, or want to finish first - the O'Round the Loch Run is your place to kick-off your running season.
Held each year in conjunction with the Emmetsburg St. Patrick's Day Celebration you are sure to find a good time.
Choose from a 1.7 Fun Run, 5K, 10K or 1/2 Marathon (13.6 miles).
O-Round the Loch Run participants are encouraged to register early.
Entry Fee: Pre-registered $35
Race Day Registration is $50.

Pre-Registration Check-in
You may pick up your O'Round the Loch Run t-shirt, race packet and number between 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm, on the Friday before the race.
Otherwise, T-shirts will be distributed with race packets and numbers starting from 7 am - 8 am on Race Day.
Extra T-shirts will be available for purchase.
General Information
- All race participants will be given a FREE day pass to the Smith Wellness Center the day of the race.
- Fresh fruit will be available to every participant.
- The O'Round the Loch Run will start and finish at the Smith Wellness Center.
Race Details
- The 10K race will begin at 8:40 am.
- The 5K race will begin at 9:00 am.
- 1.7 fun/run walk will start at 9:10 am.
- The 1/2 marathon will begin at 8:30 am. Please note: The 1/2 marathon requires a short walk to the starting line and has a four-hour limit.
Course: All races are around or in the vicinity of Five Island Lake.
Aid Stations: Water stations are provided for the 1/2 marathon race along the route and at the turnaround for the 10k.
Shower & Toilet Facilities: All facilities are available at the Arthur and Audrey Smith Wellness Center. A Port-a-Potty will be located at an intersection close to the half way point of the 1/2 Marathon.
Awards: Awards will be handed out at the conclusion of each race in the Arthur and Audrey Smith Wellness Center Gymnasium.
Trophies will be awarded to the overall men’s and women’s 1.7 Mile Fun Run/Walk, 5K, 10K, and 1/2 marathon race. Medals will be awarded for first place, second place and third place finishers in each age division—13 & under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 & 60 and over.
Other: No pets. Strollers are allowed for the 1.7 only and will start at the back.
