Fall Semester (August Start)

Planning to begin classes in the fall? Start your application process in February to ensure a smooth journey. Submit your complete application package and all required documents by June 1.

Spring Semester (January Start)

Thinking about a spring semester start? Begin your application process in October. Be sure to submit your full application package and required documents by December 1.

Follow These Steps to Start Your Journey at Iowa Lakes

1. Apply to Iowa Lakes

   • Begin your application by clicking Apply Now.

2. Submit All Required Documents

   • Provide all necessary documents to Iowa Lakes Community College, including transcripts from previously attended colleges.

3. Prepare Your Passport

   • Ensure your Passport is valid and ready before contacting the U.S. Embassy.

4. Receive Your I-20

   • Once we have received and processed all your documents, we will issue your SEVIS I-20 and mail it to you.

5. Schedule an Embassy Appointment

   • Request an appointment at the U.S. Embassy. Bring the following to your appointment:
     • Your Passport
     • SEVIS I-20 from Iowa Lakes
     • High School and/or college transcripts
     • Financial documentation

These steps are essential to obtaining your student visa.
