Last-Dollar Scholarship

FUTURE-READY IOWA

The Future-Ready Iowa Last-Dollar Scholarship is a key initiative designed to support Iowa’s ambitious goal of ensuring that 70 percent of the state’s workforce attains education or training beyond high school.

This program empowers Iowans to pursue rewarding career opportunities while equipping employers with the skilled workforce needed to foster growth and innovation. To learn more about how Iowa works toward this goal, visit the Future Ready Iowa website.

True to its name, the Last-Dollar Scholarship helps bridge the financial gap between a student’s financial aid awards and the remaining costs of attending college. At Iowa Lakes Community College, this scholarship covers expenses for qualifying students enrolled in high-demand programs. The amount of grant money you receive from the Iowa Department of Education may change based on state funding.

This scholarship supports eligible programs in areas critical to Iowa’s workforce needs, such as healthcare, technology, and skilled trades. For more information about the Last-Dollar Scholarship, including how to apply and eligibility requirements, visit Iowa College Aid.
