IOWA LAKES CROSS COUNTRY SIGNS DAMIAN
VACIN
Iowa Lakes Community College head cross
country coach Molly Struve recently signed
Damian Vacin for the fall 2010 season.
Vacin, who is a 2009 graduate of Sergeant
Bluff High School, will add experience and
talent to the young team.
“Damian was a member of the Mount Marty
cross country team this fall. He was very
successful there, but decided to transfer to
Iowa Lakes for this semester and next year.
Since he has already participated in one
season, he will only be able to use one year
of eligibility with us,” stated Laker Head
Cross Country Coach Molly Struve. “He is a
dedicated runner and truly enjoys the
sport. All of our men from last year are
graduating, so I am looking to him to serve
as a leader. He has experience running at
the college level and participated in many
of the same meets as us last year.”
Vacin was a member of the Sergeant Bluff-Luton
cross country team while in high school. He
earned and individual trip the state cross
country meet in 2008, where he finished 78th
in class 3A.
The Iowa Lakes Community College Men’s and
Women’s Cross Country teams begin their fall
2010 season in early August. For more
