SURG TECH CLUB JOINS WITH SOCCER TEAM TO
PROMOTE SURGICAL TECHNOLOGY CAREERS
Surg Tech Club students at Iowa Lakes Community
College will help enhance Wednesday’s soccer
match with extra games and prizes as part of
their celebration of National Surgical
Technology week.
The Wednesday game against Indian Hills begins
at 4 p.m. at the soccer field just off 10th Ave.
East which the Laker squad fondly refers to as
the “Lake House.”
A highlight at half time will be a raffle of a
soccer ball autographed by each member of the
Lakers soccer squad. Other items to be raffled
include two meal tickets to “The Dock” the new
restaurant at Gateway North which serves
students at the Spencer campus; an Iowa Lakes
logo blanket; and, a signed Soccer poster.
Other half-time fun includes a frozen T-shirt
contest! Participants will be required to peel
apart a frozen T-shirt and then put the T-shirt
on. The fastest three participants will receive
a prize. First place will receive a soccer
sweatshirt; second place will win a long sleeved
soccer T-shirt; and, third place will received a
short sleeved soccer T-shirt.
Throughout the match, Surg Tech students will
offer face painting for a free will offering and
will also have “Surg Tech Sugar Cookies” on
sale.
Raffle tickets will be available starting one
hour prior to Wednesday’s match. Participants
must be present to win. For more information
