CLASSES CANCELLED AT IOWA LAKES FOR FUNERAL
OF EMPLOYEE
Classes will be cancelled for two hours at all
campuses of Iowa Lakes Community College on
Wednesday, Nov. 4, to allow employees to attend
the funeral of Tom Weideman.
The cancellation of classes from 10 a.m. to noon
Wednesday is out of respect to Weideman for his
dedication and years of service to Iowa Lakes.
College offices will remain open, although
some services may be limited during this time
period.
Weideman, the computer network administrator,
worked at Iowa Lakes for the past 25 years. He
is credited with developing the first computer
network serving the entire college in the
mid-1990s. While his work kept him in front of
a computer screen most hours of the day, he
impacted every student and employee with his
ability to keep more than 1,400 computers and 25
servers running 24 hours a day, seven days a
week.
