STUDENTS HELP AT ‘TASTE OF IOWA’® BOOTH Students and staff of Iowa Lakes Community College will be assisting at the Taste of Iowa® booth at the Clay County Fair. The Taste of Iowa booth promotes the Iowa Department of Economic Development’s efforts to help consumers recognize food and ag products which are at least 50 percent raised, grown or processed in Iowa. The program is designed to help growers, producers and manufacturers sell their products to local, statewide, national or international markets. The students and staff will be available at the booth (which is located in the Agricultural Building #11) to help register fair-goers for A Taste of Iowa® gift baskets which will be given away daily. In addition, they’ll help distribute coupons for Iowa products. And, A Taste of Iowa® Restaurant Directory will also be available. There are over 1,500 registered A Taste of Iowa® Products. They include: popcorn, pasta, wine, beer, turkey, salsa, barbecue sauces, dairy, honey …and much more. Staff of the Iowa Department of Economic Development will also help staff the booth. Partners in the program include the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship, the Iowa Grocery Industry Association and the Iowa Hospitality Association. |
