14 Iowa Lakes Community College Swimmers and Divers will be joining 25 community colleges across the country to compete in the 2012 -2013 National Junior College Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championships on March 6, 7, 8 and 9 at the Burt Flickinger athletic center, on the campus of Erie Community College, in Buffalo NY. This follows the Lakers swimming and diving team’s women's first place and men's second place finish at regionals.
Coach Johnathan Jordan is confident the swimmers and divers are ready to compete at the national championships. “Our team is ready to compete at the national level,” Jordan said. “The swimmers and divers have been working hard for the past six months to get ready for this final competition. They are all well rested, and ready for a tough week of competition."And, he’s predicting good results. “I expect to have a great second national appearance for the swimming and diving team, and anticipate our athletes will come home with podium finishes. We are predicting a top 10 finish for both teams” Jordan predicted.
