The Ivan and Janet Brown "Just Say Yes" Scholarship was established at Iowa Lakes Community College in 2007 by Ivan and Janet along with BrownMed in Spirit Lake. The Browns encourage students to "Just Say Yes" to continuing their education. Eligibility requirements include Alternative High School diploma or GED, full-time enrollment, a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA, and financial need determined by FAFSA results. Award is $500 to be used for tuition, books or fees.
The 2012-13 recipient is Annette Hawkins of Bode.
