Perry and Teresa Pearson, long-time residents of the Iowa Great Lakes area, established the GreenWay Scholarship at Iowa Lakes Community College in 2007. The Pearsons are critically aware of and support the need to improve and protect the environment. Requirements are full-time enrollment in Wind Energy and Turbine Technology, Biorenewable Fuels, Sustainable Energy Resources Management, Landscape and Turfgrass Technician or Environmental Studies; a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA and financial need as determined by FAFSA results.
The 2012-13 recipients are Connor Russing of Round Lake, Minn., and Tyler Sindt of Rock Rapids.
