Arts & Science/Career Option
Valedictorian (first ranking graduate in high school class) - $4,675 per year
Salutatorian (second ranking graduate in high school class) - $3,750 per year
Other candidates meeting 2 of the 3 requirements listed below - $2,800 per year
Career/Technical Education
Valedictorian (first ranking graduate in high school class) - $5,250 per year
Salutatorian (second ranking graduate in high school class) - $4,200 per year
Other candidates meeting 2 of the 3 requirements listed below - $3,150 per year
Opportunities available to earn Honors credit by completing "in class honors" activities and requirements.
- "Scholars only" academic and leadership/service activities each semester.
- Opportunity for interaction with fellow Honors students in both on- and off-campus activities.
- Opportunity to determine both individual and group or club academic pursuits.
- Special recognition at graduation.
How Do You Apply Online?
- Complete the online scholarship application by April 1.
- Complete the online application for admission by April 1.
- Have an official transcript of high school grades sent to the Admissions Office.
- Request an exam report from ACT be sent to Iowa Lakes.
Who Is Eligible?
Applicants to the Presidential Scholar Program must satisfy at least two of the following requirements:
Arts & Science/Career Option
- Be named a Valedictorian, Salutatorian, or first or second ranking graduate in high school class.
- Have a minimum cumulative 3.5 GPA from senior year in high school.
- Score 25 or above on the ACT.
- Rank in the top 10 percent of your high school class.
Career/Technical Education
- Be named a Valedictorian, Salutatorian, or first or second ranking graduate in high school class.
- Have a minimum cumulative 3.25 GPA from senior year in high school.
- Score 20 or above on the ACT.
- Rank in the top 20 percent of your high school class.
How Do You Remain Eligible?
- Maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 while at Iowa Lakes Community College.
- Actively participate in scheduled honors/community service activities while at Iowa Lakes Community College.
- Demonstrate leadership/service through participation in college activities while at Iowa Lakes Community College.
- Complete scholarship application each academic year.
