The Medical Assistant is a multi-skilled trained professional. This person receives specialized training in administrative, clinical, and lab procedures and limited radiography. There is good job placement in this field.
The Medical Assistant 2-year degree program orients students to come multi-skilled trained professionals.
Special features of the program include:
Laboratory skills
venipuncture, process routine lab tests in a medical clinic, throat cultures, electrocardiograms, & etc.
Clinical Assisting
medication administration, assisting physicians with patient examinations and minor surgery procedures, and learning casting applications and removal and etc.
Administration
reception/appointment skills, insurance coding, computer skills, medical transcription and etc.
Limited Radiology
training to perform x-rays in a medical clinic and to complete the required exam to become a Licensed Limited Radiologic Technologist.
